Starting the New Year Right with Grilled Selections @GortonsSeafood #RealFabulous Giveaway ends 1/29/2014

Being a part of the Gorton’s blogger program I often receive free coupons and goodies to review their products.  I have received 5 free coupons to conduct a review of their Grilled Selections.

My family is not a big seafood family, unless it’s deep fried.  My son is a little more adventurous just like his mom.  I chose a few selections to try on the grilled side of Gorton’s.  Grilled Haddock, Grilled Tilapia and Shrimp Scampi.

Now the first one I tried was the haddock, which isn’t pictured here because it was purchased in a different shopping trip.  I was not a fan, I do not usually eat haddock, Tilapia is my go to fish.  It was a little too mushy and fishy for my taste, although my son ate it just fine.

So, I’ve always bought my fish fresh unless it was deep fried then it doesn’t really matter.  When I picked out the Tilapia to try next I was a little nervous, especially when I opened the package to throw it in the oven.

It doesn’t look much like fish huh?

As I looked for recipe ideas I kept seeing the tacos, and I love my Mexican food.  But this was a lunch only for myself and I wasn’t making fresh taco shells for 1.  So I made a salad with chips on the side, close enough!  Topped it with my fish and took my first bite.

Impressive.

This had great flavor and the Garlic and Butter seasoning gave it just enough that there was no need for dressing.  The Skillet Tilapia was my favorite but this comes in close second and I don’t feel bad about eating it because it is not deep fried!
